HOME - BOOK SHELF - JOURNEY - WRITER'S HELPS - ABOUT

Short stories require a discipline essential to every writer. To be able to flesh out a character and build a convincing plot within the limited framework of a short story forces hones a writer's skills for larger works. Each of the pieces of flash fiction are special to this author's heart for various reasons.

The Boy Inside the Man- is really about the author's own youngest son. Join with me as my wife and I received out first danger call from Iraq after our sons convoy was hit by insurgent fire just south of Baghdad. The Boy Inside the Man now appears in print in the anthology, Hidden in the Hymns. (added August 2007)

Anyway - Join Ronnie, Becka, and Iris as they, along with their other "special" friends, teach us the true meaning of worship. (Added December 2007)

For the Joy - imagine a book so terrifying that a man waits a lifetime before he even dares open it. Abdul al-Jabbaar’s mother died because of that book when he was a boy. Now, as an aging man he finds the courage to discover what she so gladly died for. (Added October 2007)

The Magic Board- tells the story of a boy named Raymond. Raymond sees things in a way far differently than the rest of us. And he helps us to see ourselves as well. The Magic Board is the seed for a future novel tentatively titled The Source. (Added August 2007)
