The Pawn by Steven James
on May21 2009
Special Agent Patrick Bowers PhD. has a different viewpoint on crime from just about anyone else in the agency. That specialty brings him to the mountains of North Carolina to consult on what appears to be the work of a serial killer. Bowers life is complicated by a step-daughter he barely knows, the memories of his wife’s recent death, and a Special Agent in Charge that thinks his field of criminology is bogus.
Steven James debut novel is a wild ride well worth the taking. This is suspense in rare form. Plot twists move this story along at near perfect pacing and the antagonist will not be forgotten. The term page-turner is often overused but not when it comes to The Pawn.
